2020-2021 Season

Missouri Contemporary Ballet’s 15th anniversary season generously sponsored by:

MCB values the health of our community, our audiences, and our dancers. As a result of the uncertainty created by COVID-19 our 2020-2021 season is going to look very different than prior years. After much deliberation and with heavy hearts, we have decided to cancel our live fall performance. We know that this is a loss for dance enthusiasts in our community, our fans, and our supporters, but it is also an opportunity. We invite you to join with our board, staff, students, and dancers to bring the excitement and energy of our usual live performances to a special fundraising effort unique to our times. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by December 31 so we can greet the new year with renewed vitality and inspiration. This effort will involve unique performances and world premiere choreography. Please stay tuned for more information about special events, boutique performances, and ways to get involved. In the meantime, find out how to join the Friends of MCB membership program and become a part of our effort to dance through to the other side.

Date TBD – MCB’s Collaboration with Missouri Symphony

At Missouri Theatre, presented by the University Concert Series

Music and motion come together to evoke emotion unlike any other. This collaboration explores the interaction between classical music and contemporary ballet and will challenge audience expectations of both. The athleticism of the dancers, the twists and turns of contemporary ballet, and the artistry of the dancers as they engage with the music are sure to enthrall audiences. The professional dance company of the Missouri Contemporary Ballet will perform original choreography accompanied by a live performance of the Missouri Symphony. The performance is a fusion of two classical art forms with a contemporary twist, fostering the natural dialogue between dance and music, providing an opportunity for our artists to broaden their understanding of one another’s expressions, and providing audiences with a chance to experience this dialogue through a powerful, immersive experience.
