Joel Hathaway

Joel Hathaway is in his Fifth Season as a dancer with Mareck Center for Dance. He has performed in various original ballets by Artistic Director Karen Mareck Grundy and is featured in additional works by visiting choreographers Joshua Blake Carter, Autumn Eckman, Kameron Saunders, Bryn Cohn, John Mark Owen and Thang Dao. His more notable roles in Mareck Center for Dance repertory were featured as the Caterpillar in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Carmina Burana.  He served as Resident Choreographer for the company and on faculty with the School of Mareck Center for Dance. 

Hathaway danced with Milwaukee Ballet II from 2008-2010. In addition to performing in MBII repertory, was privileged to perform in Michael Pink’s Candide Overture, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, and Nutcracker; other visiting choreographers include Val Caniparoli, Maurice Causey, Trey McIntyre, Mark Godden, Adam Hougland and Petr Zahradnicek.  

Originally from Seaside, Oregon, Hathaway trained at the School of Oregon Ballet summer intensives with Damara Bennet and Christopher Stowell, Ballet Chicago with Daniel Duell and Patricia Blair, and Maddox Dance Studio.  Mr. Hathaway is a graduate from Cornish College of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in Ballet and Modern dance and a wide lens for choreography.
