Kay Whitney

Kay Whitney grew up dancing at the Columbus DanceArts Academy in Columbus, Ohio. She has attended summer programs at BalletMet Columbus, Point Park University, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Kay went on to study at Point Park University where she had the opportunity to perform works by Peter Merz, Garfield Lemonius, Jason McDole, and Val Caniparoli.

She also spent a year as a Pre-Professional student at BalletMet Columbus performing choreography by Maria Glimcher, and Gerard Charles. She had the privilege of working on various projects with Texture Contemporary Ballet under the direction of Alan Obuzor and Kelsey Bartman. This is Kay’s seventh season with Mareck Center for Dance.

Kay also currently serves as the Community Coordinator for the School of Mareck Center for Dance. Kay plans, organizes, and oversees all things DanceAbility and DanceReach, as well as teaching Ballet II and Teen/Adult Beginning Modern. The Mareck Center for Dance is excited to have Kay and her expertise on our staff in this capacity.
