Michele Curry is born and raised in Columbia, MO and is a graduate of Hickman High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was recently recognized in COMO Magazine’s 2022 Class of 20 Under 40, a group of 20 individuals in our community under the age of 40 who are making a difference. Aside from the numerous boards and volunteer organizations Michele works with, she has always had a passion for the arts, beginning her performing arts career in high school and carrying it on via community theater. Michele was voted Best Theatrical Performer 2017 by Inside Columbia Magazine. By day, Michele works at Commerce Bank as a Treasury Management Officer, where she just celebrated her 10-year anniversary. Michele specializes in helping large corporations leverage banking technology to understand, automate, and maximize their cash flow. In layman’s terms, she is a consultant who can help companies reach their financial goals. This skill itself requires creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, much does the success of art and culture in Columbia. Michele has served on boards for arts organizations, assisted the Office of Cultural Affairs plan their largest fundraiser of the year for the last 6 years to support the multitude of arts organizations around Columbia, curated the 2019 Blind Boone Piano Concert Series hosted by the Boone County History and Culture Center, and performed all over town in theatrical or concert-style performances. When asked if she is a “triple-threat” (i.e. a performer who can sing, act AND dance), Michele responds that she can sing; she can act; and she can act like she can dance. By being chosen as a Celebrity to perform with Missouri Contemporary Ballet in the Dancing With the Missouri Stars fundraiser, Michele hopes to prove to the world if the ‘dancing’ part of her statement is valid or not. Let the show go on!
