Renee Hoagenson was the Democratic candidate for Congress in 2018. She worked hard meeting voters, attending events and raising funds from over 2500 different donors in a grassroots campaign.
Renee is a Missouri girl, born and raised. She lived several places in Missouri as a child and settled in Columbia when she came to attend the University of Missouri at 18.
She’s one of the many who fell in love with Columbia where she continues to make her home. Her three children were born in Columbia and went to Columbia Public Schools. Her two oldest attend her alma mater.
Renee graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in English. She worked in advertising in her early career in television, radio and newspaper.
She built three magazine businesses in Columbia, Jefferson City and Sedalia including Columbia Marketplace Magazine which she sold in 2009.
Renee is a Rotarian and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown Columbia.
