June 1 & 2, 2019 – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

At Jesse Hall, presented by the University Concert Series

Fall down the rabbit hole into the fantasy world first imagined by Lewis Carroll with Missouri Contemporary Ballet’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’. Karen Mareck Grundy’s original choreography and Tom Andes’ musical score bring Carroll’s classic hurtling into the 21st century with sensational costumes, innovative choreography, and more than its fair share of outlandish characters! Featuring local musicians and student dancers alongside Missouri Contemporary Ballet’s professional dancers, ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ is a whimsical thrill ride the entire family will love.

November 16 & 17, 2018 – Intersections

At Missouri Theatre, presented by the University Concert Series

Missouri Contemporary Ballet launches into our 13th season with ‘Intersections’, featuring six unique works by five choreographers. In addition to premieres by Artistic/Executive Director Karen Mareck Grundy and Resident Choreographer Fernando Rodriguez, ‘Intersections’ features works by Sean Carmon (Alvin Ailey), Alice Bloch (Isadora Duncan), and Joshua Blake Carter (Giordano Dance Chicago). With something for everyone, there are bound to be twists and turns in this diverse blend of creators.

November 30, 2018 – Choreographic Installation

At MCB studios, inside Balsamo Warehouse

Join us for an intimate evening at the MCB studios featuring brand new works choreographed by the MCB Dancers on the dancers. You have two opportunities to see this performance at 6 & 7:30p. Tickets are $10 at the door.

April 5 & 6, 2019 – Carmina Burana: a Collaboration with Columbia Chorale

At Missouri Theatre, Presented by the University Concert Series

Missouri Contemporary Ballet continues its 13th Season of performances in a collaboration of ‘Carmina Burana’ with the Columbia Chorale. Choreographed by Karen Mareck Grundy and Joel Hathaway, ‘Carmina Burana’ premiered in 2015 to rave reviews and a packed house. Featuring nine dancers and 130 singers, ‘Carmina Burana’ utilizes Carl Orff’s original conception of ‘total theater’ to combine music, singing, and movement to produce a thrilling effect. Don’t miss this performance described by audience members as “athletic, artistic and breathtaking!”
