Given the rapidly changing landscape surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we have had to cancel and postpone several Missouri Contemporary Ballet events. We canceled our annual Sip & Shop event, and postponed our April performance of “LIVE!”. Rehearsals will also be paused temporarily until there is a better understanding of what we are facing as a nation. This includes both studio rehearsals with our Company members and celebrity rehearsals for Dancing with Missouri Stars. We are very sad to do this but the health and safety of our community and staff come first.
If your tickets to “LIVE!” were purchased through Ticketmaster or the Missouri Theatre box office, you will automatically be refunded as quickly as possible by the University Concert Series. If those tickets were paid for with cash or check, the box office is planning to reach out to you individually to facilitate the refund. Our performances are a crucial part of our financial health and we do hope you will consider donating what you have spent on tickets as a gift to Missouri Contemporary Ballet. You can also become a friend of MCB online with monthly plans as low as $25. Each level of friendship includes benefits for you as well! Visit our website for more information and to donate.
More generally, if you have purchased any tickets to any live theatre or performance event please consider donating that money to the theatre or organization rather than asking for a refund. And consider ways you can support businesses in our local economy at this time. Obviously, the health of our community is of the utmost importance at this time. We recognize that many livelihoods will be negatively affected as we all pull together to get through the coming weeks of this pandemic. We are a strong community and will get through this together.
Missouri Contemporary Ballet will continue to monitor the health recommendations of the CDC and other federal, state, and municipal agencies. We will issue statements about any future MCB events as those recommendations are updated. You will be able to find those updates on our website and social media.
We wish health and safety to you and your loved ones. As per the CDC recommendations, please stay home as much as you can, avoid gathering in groups, and make sure to keep your hands clean and away from your face. If we work together, we can keep our community as healthy as possible.
