June 8, 2024 – Youth Ensemble Auditions

Mareck Center for Dance is looking for dancers to join us for our 2024-2025 Youth Ensemble!

Auditions will take place on Saturday, June 8th. Registration will begin at 2 pm, and the audition will be from 2:30-4:30 pm. All dancers enrolled in Ballet III-Ballet VI from Spring 2024 are eligible and encouraged to audition. Students interested in Youth Ensemble must be current students or new students enrolled in Fall 2024 classes.

Please email us by May 25th if you plan to attend the audition on June 8th!

Audition Day Information:

  • Dancers should wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes to the audition (Pointe shoes if applicable)
  • Please bring a headshot, your first arabesque photo, and your resume
  • Audition fee: $15

The Mareck Center for Dance Youth Ensemble aims to provide our intermediate and advanced students with performance and choreographic opportunities in a professional atmosphere. In addition to the Mareck Center for Dance Winter and Spring showcases, students in the Youth Ensemble have also performed at National Dance Week St. Louis, Carmina Burana, Grant Arts Night, Choreographic Installation, Dancing with Missouri Stars, and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Students also compete at Youth America Grand Prix. Joining Youth Ensemble is a commitment to rehearsals and performances from August 2024 – June 2025, so please consider this obligation if you plan to audition. Additionally, any dancers interested in joining Youth Ensemble should attend either Summer Session classes, our 2-week Pre Professional Summer Intensive, or a different summer intensive, to maintain their dance training throughout the summer.

April 14, 2024 – Frozen Tea Party

At Balsamo Warehouse, benefitting Mareck Center for Dance

Get your best friends together to wear your best Disney-inspired outfit and join us for some fun! Dress up is encouraged seat reservation includes cookie decorating provided by Range Free, a craft, and tea or lemonade. Our donation-based bake sale will also be open with additional sweets and treats. Event will feature raffle prizes and silent auction items for parents and little ones!

June 3 & 4, 2023 – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

At Jesse Auditorium, presented by the University Concert Series

Fall down the rabbit hole into the fantasy world first imagined by Lewis Carroll with Mareck Dance’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’. Karen Mareck Grundy’s original choreography and Tom Andes’ musical score bring Carroll’s classic hurtling into the 21st century with sensational costumes, innovative choreography, and more than its fair share of outlandish characters! Featuring local musicians and student dancers alongside Mareck Dance’s professional dancers, ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ is a whimsical thrill ride the entire family will love.
